Currently we are looking for a responsible and capable person that is a mechanically inclined individual with attention to detail to be a flexographic press operator.
A flexographic press operator prints designs, logos and lettering on pressure sensitive materials or tags used for industrial, commercial and consumer products.
The press operator, commonly referred to as a pressman, sets up the press with the materials to be printed according to the work order. The work order instructions typically include required ink colors, the length of the press run and other directions to help make the finished product acceptable. To get the press ready to run, the pressman mounts the job’s specially made plates and dies with the designs onto press cylinders. Cylinders get securely mounted onto the shafts. The last step before running is to fill fountains with ink, sometimes mixing colors, and secure them. After the appropriate inks and tooling have been loaded, the pressman commonly makes adjustments on the press to line up or register printing as well as match colors to a proof approved by the customer. Once the job has been started, a sample is shown to the operations or plant manager for approval before the job runs. Once the job is completed, the pressman is expected to properly remove and clean all tooling. Benefits include: Health Insurance and Paid Vacation.
